Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine's the name of Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing piano in church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the city's R&B scene. In 2005, she was employed as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls the stage show of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of notice during the four shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
