Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar thanks to his folk-inspired songs most of which were based in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in over Colorado before settling in Aspen. Many people made their way through Colorado after listening to Denver's iconic songs for his home state. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame has stated in his report that John Denver was the best singer to have captured Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. He is now the symbol of Colorado for all people. Through my travels I've met folks who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them you're from Colorado, the first words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk music groups was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track using Johnny Cash in mind but once Denver first heard the song it was clear that it was an instant hit. Danoff recorded the track within a couple of days following a performance to an enthusiastic audience in Washington D.C.
